How we work.

Six stages

First meeting
Get in touch and we will agree a time to meet. We introduce ourselves, understand your needs, and look at the potential of the house and site. Ideally we meet face to face — the more we know you and the site, the better the result.

Brief, timeline and quote
After we have met we prepare the design brief, timelines, and a full quote for architectural services. We work to lump-sum, fixed fees so you can budget from the start. If you are happy to go ahead, we arrange the site surveys.

Concept design
We start with the site survey, then prepare initial drawings and design ideas. Your first design review meeting is where we present the concepts. We refine until the home still feels like yours.

Planning
We prepare the drawings and manage the planning application on your behalf. Local knowledge of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire planning keeps the submission grounded in what will work on your site.

Technical design
Post-planning, we prepare building regulations, construction detailing, and the information a contractor needs to build. We can introduce you to vetted contractors in your area.

On site and aftercare
We assemble the team to deliver the design on site and stay available from start to finish, so the finished home still feels like yours.

Home and interior design, with 3D models and walkthroughs so you can see the house before it is built.

Don’t worry though, if you don’t know any of the above or would rather not say straight away then that’s fine. Just give us a call and we’ll see how we can help.
We will only quote for work once we have discussed the project with potential clients. Some architects might throw numbers at a project or say it’s percentage of the construction budget, but that involves a lot of guesswork, so we don’t do that. We provide lump sum, fixed fees so that you can budget for the work from the start.
Ideally, yes, we prefer to meet all our clients face to face to understand your needs and the house or site.
Sometimes we can undertake work remotely, but in our experience the more we can get to know you and the site, the better the result.
